Preparing For Your Airbrush Tan

Getting ready for your airbrush tan is a crucial step to ensure a flawless, sun-kissed glow. Before your appointment, remember to take a refreshing shower, paying extra attention to exfoliating dry areas such as elbows, knees, and hands. Shave any areas you typically would during an “everything” shower to guarantee an even application. It’s also crucial to avoid applying creams, lotions, or makeup on the day of your appointment, as these products can interfere with the process and potentially lead to streaks.

Aftercare instructions are just as important to follow to help make sure your tan dries and sets evenly. Please be sure to wear loose, dark-colored clothing to avoid rubbing off the solution or staining your favorite outfits.

Frequently Asked Airbrush Tanning Questions

Can I shower after my airbrush tan?

If you receive our standard airbrush tan treatment, you should wait at least 10 hours before showering. For those receiving our rapid airbrush tan, you only have to wait one hour.

Do I have to be completely nude to receive an airbrush tan?

Not at all. While we do recommend removing all your clothing if you don’t want any tan lines, we understand everyone’s comfort level is different. You’re more than welcome to wear any undergarments of your choice when you arrive for your spray tan appointment.

How do I ensure my tan doesn’t fade too quickly?

  • Steer clear of chlorine and any activities that might require you to be rough on your skin
  • Avoid shaving for as long as possible, as this acts as an exfoliant and may diminish your tan
  • During the initial 10-12 hours post-tan, be aware that the tanning solution may transfer to your sheets or furniture. If you head to bed without showering, opt for pajamas that cover as much of your skin as possible to minimize transfer.
  • Moisturize daily to lock in the tanning serum and increase longevity
  • After showering, be sure to pat your skin dry instead of rubbing to preserve your tan’s radiance
